Alumni Admissions Program
Making a Mark on Vassar’s Future

Coming up in January is the “Mass Interview Day” – a great opportunity for Vassar alumni in the DC area to help Vassar select the class of 2008.  Since Vassar discontinued on-campus interviews several years ago, it has fallen to alumni to give Vassar admissions staff insight into applicants’ qualities that go beyond test scores and high school transcripts.
This year alumni admissions volunteers and prospective students will meet on Saturday, January 22 at the downtown law firm of Howrey Simon Arnold & White at 1299 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, in downtown DC near the Warner Theater.  We are planning to run interviews every hour from 9:00 AM until about 3:30 PM.  Each volunteer will interview two or three students and will write an interview report on-site.  For those students that cannot attend the “Mass” day, we schedule individual interviews, conducted at a place mutually convenient to the student and the alumni volunteer.  Reports can be filed online at the Vassar Alumni Admissions Program web site (http://admissions.vassar.edu/aap), making the process more convenient than ever.
If you missed the initial call and are interested in joining this effort, please feel free to contact Admissions Committee chair Suzanne Lightman ‘88
